Hi Carmen, thank you so much for the first video and worksheet. The work sheet is hard for me but I am working on it. Gosh, we had our own biz for years and sold it 1 and a half ago but I had joined network marketing 2 years ago. I joined for fun, the discount, I sale athletic wear, it turned in to so much more, meeting some awesome people and I started making some income although I am getting burned out, working really hard to make the income and not enrolling like minded people. So of course I love your first video and worksheet but have ideas but not sure about my passions, thank you because I was at the jumping off point.

Hi Shon! I am so glad the 1st video helped and you’re going through the worksheet, even thought it feels a bit hard. It will really help you uncover some important things that will help you in your NWM business — and your life too — so well done on doing something that feels hard. So true about NWM being so much more eh? It’s so worth figuring out a way to do it that feels authentic and easeful — AND doesn’t burn you out. So glad you’re here! Carmen :)

Aloha Carmen. So lovely to see you again. (very long ago Conventions and cruises). I live on Salt Spring Island; writing this in Victoria.
I love your gentle ways and caring approach to people. That is the way I want to activate my business, not throw-everything-at-the-fan- social-media, even if it is so successful. I care about people, their health and happiness. And my passion is yacht racing. A crazy time for me to build my business when both caring and passion are greatly curtailed.
My AHA is that I give myself permission to be me and can continue to be me by going slowly until my world opens again, I don’t need to force myself to learn and chase social media.
What a beautiful start to your videos. Greatly looking forward to more. with love and light, Elizabeth
p.s. is it possible to make the print darker? grey is such a strain on the eyes.

So great to hear from you Elizabeth — not only a fellow Canadian but also writing from Victoria (my hometown no less!) This is such a great AHA – yes! Lean into being YOU and you don’t have to chase anything that doesn’t feel aligned. There are so many ways to build this business — focus your energy on the ones that feel right and that bring you joy. Thank you so much for the feedback too! Printing — the PDF’s are designed to print out in black and a very dark grey (they shouldn’t be hard to read) — could you try changing the settings on your printer? Let me know! Carmen xo

Do not put off what I love doing! Start living my passions NOW. This is so important Carmen and I absolutely love you for bringing this into Soulcraft and my life. This is going to take me to task with inner work, there are things I love but can no longer do…like ski jumping. At 53 these things change and I need to find new thrills. Instead of catching air on my skiis, maybe I can find a potters wheel. This is a process, I will trust it and take action, thinking about myself (instead of what’s best for everyone else) is taking action.

You are so welcome Micha. Yes, you are so right — doing more of what we love can change throughout the years (and circumstances like the year 2020!). You have such a great attitude about finding new things to peak your interest, curiosity and passion :)

Thanks Carmen, This is so for me… I’m real bad with confidence. My AHA moment is I can be myself… My action at this time is to figure out what I love to do. I’m retired, so I have time. I’m actually into Bible Studying. Right now COVID stops my being around people all the time. So I’ve been working through the internet. Any ideas?

    • Carmen Marshall

Hi Karen! This is such a great aha and wonderful clarity on what you really enjoy and are passionate about. This is an ideal example of how you could center your NWM business around what you love. Step 1 — become a teacher, host or organizer of your Bible Study groups — which you can do online through Zoom. Which do you think you would rather be — the teacher, the host or the organizer? See you on the next video! Warmly, Carmen

    Carmen,
I am back and starting over since I just retired.

My aha is still getting through the mental junk in my head and to work on consistency.

Actions step when the junk goes through my head think of something positive and replace it with the junk and do this everyday consistently.

Hi Carmen! My aha would be “Our purpose is always connected to what we love”. This is the main reason why I have been so “off” in the last 2 years in my business. I wanted to show what I loved about my products, the success I had & show others what they could do for them. I want to create my NWM business around a niche instead of the general approach. Authenticity is huge for me. I believe I found my niche & now want to get things rolling!

My aha aligning our businesses with our passions and cutting through the mental junk in our heads. I have too much mental junk that gets in my way. Your video is outstanding; I feel you were directing it to me because this is what I need to hear. I feel I am authentic bu now I wonder if I haven’t been.

I let people get in my way which creates no consistency for me. I want to make my business work. At one point it did then it went down the tubes.

Hi Renee! Such a great aha to get so clearly what is standing in the way. And know that if your business was working at one point, for SURE it will work again, with just tweaks — which you’ve already discovered some of them — nice work. Hi! I don’t even have a business yet. I am a sell associate at a store, and I have the idea of selling different things, both online and a little store after.
I live in Miami and my favorite items are swimwear.
I am always afraid to start cause I am already 53 and my retirement is all I have.
Also I have a very negative husband.

    Reply
    • Carmen Marshall

Hi Ana! Can you start in a small way? The biggest thing that we regret are usually not things we do (we can chalk that up to getting experience), but the things we don’t do in life — so I would encourage you to follow your dreams, with baby steps. Could you work in swimwear store (maybe you are??), could you start with a NWM company to build a little bit of cash reserve (my NWM income funded all my “passion” businesses), could you apprentice or work for/with a business owner to learn? What other baby steps could you do that would get you in the stream of what you love? Everything little thing you do matters, even if it seems small – but it all adds up over 2-3 years. And 53 is young! You have so much life experience…and the 2nd half of your life put it all into practice. What do you think? Carmen

    Hi Carmen

Sorry but no aha moment. Artistic and creative resonates with me as a visual artist. I always feel divorced from the marketing aspect of what I offer with passion, love, and joy, also with meaningful content, I mention it because it matters. Now, about teaching, considering the ongoing virus and regulations, getting a bunch of people together in one place sounds like a fairytale. Maybe I should join the online tribe. By the way, being bilingual with English as my 2nd language always get me wondering which way to go. I am in for the next video, thank you so much for what you do.

Hi Enrique! I’m so glad you’re here! Yes, I think one thing COVID has emphasized is the necessity of having at least a portion of our business online — and from my experience over the past 10 years pre-covid, having part of NWM business online allows you to reach and help so many more people, and have more freedom of where you live, who your customers and associates are (especially with your being billigual!) and helps with having the ability to pivot when things like COVID come along. Building our NWM business both online and in person (soon hopefully!) is just so important — you’re in the right place. I love that passion, love, joy and meaningful content is important to you — the art of soulful living and business building for sure. Again, so glad you’re here and looking forward to connecting after Vid 2! Warmly, Carmen

Thank you Carmen for putting the video together. My #1 AHA moment was putting the focus with my passion of helping families with better health and building income from home. I truly love talking to people, teaching them how simple changes can bring joy. My #1 action step I need to do is setting my schedule to accommodate my other love of working out. I have a tenancy of forgetting me. I retired in December of last year. My whole life has been focused on my family and their needs. My father lived with my family for 6 years, after my mom died. During that time, we had my daughter and son graduate from high school. Later college graduations, oh, and my daughter was married. My oldest son was married 5 months after his sister was married. He had an out-of-state wedding. The following year my youngest son was married, home on leave, Air Force. It was supposed to be the following year, five days to plan a wedding. It went off as though we had been planning it for months. My husband worked at a job, in home improvement as a design specialist. His appointments were early morning till late evening. I also worked from home in a high demanding atmosphere, up at 5:30, to bed by 10:30 if lucky. So, I needed this video to change my mindset of I AM important. I got too relaxed in my schedule after my retirement. My get-up-and-go went to AWE, do it later attitude…… SO, now, I have an ACTION STEP, get my schedule to include ME,

See you in the NEXT Video Carmen! Thank you again!

    Hi Carmen,

I have downloaded the PDF and viewed the video and the worksheet. I am now teleworking from home from my normal job. The reason I am interested in network marketing is that I have been using a superior nutritional supplement for 12 years and I am an Associate Independent Distributor for the company. I am also close to retirement for the second time (first time was 24 years of active duty military), and this time it’s because I am 61 and should probably be looking at retiring again. But I can’t just retire and do nothing. So why not use my story to make an income?

    Hi Carmen,

Firstly, thank you for this video!! I hesitated at first to access it and am so thankful that I clicked on the link – Your message came and touched something within me. :)

My Ah Ha moment was truly realising that it is the fear/unknown holding me back – More specifically of moving forward in my business with an approach that I’ve been encouraged to use that goes against what I believe in and against what I think is the appropriate way to approach things and my prospective participants/associates. I realised that I can break the mold and do things my way – All I need to do is continue to be me, put into practice what I am learning from my own research (which includes what I’ve learned here so far!) and not compromising who I am. THANK YOU for that!

One thing I am going to do this week is to start being more active in my business and the first step will be to offer more value in what I am offering by staring to share better information/posts – I love reading/writing so why not create better posts sharing what I have and am learning about life and the business I am in. Start sharing more of what I would be looking for if I was searching for a new opportunity or someone to follow!

That is a very powerful Aha and one of the values of Soul Craft – doing things soulfully, in a way that feels good to YOU.
That is a great action step, to do more of what you love (reading/writing) and infusing it in your business. I would love to hear how it goes! See you in the next vid – Carmen :)

Hi Carmen, Absolutely loved the video, just so good to go over what I am passionate about all over again and also go present to what I love about being in Network marketing. I absolutely love having flexible schedule and that gives me freedom to travel and the other is the residual income that comes with this business.
One of the steps I’m going to take is schedule a webinar for next week to share about health, immunity and how during this time easy steps can be taken to improve.

I think the biggest thing I took from this video is just that I can go about my business in a way that is different from others just by be being me and letting what inspires and drives me help drive others. My goal for this week is to really look over that worksheet and figure out a better way to reach out to people and maybe take my girls on a hike somewhere we haven’t been.

This has come, I feel, at such a great time for me. I’m still new to my business and really feel like during this time I’ve started to struggle. Watching your first video was really eye opening and motivating for me. Also, helped that I had a coaching call and talked with my up-line in business this week as well to help get me back on track and motivated. I loved honestly everything you went over and took LOTS of notes but, I would have to say the thing that stuck out for me the most was when you were talking about “Crafting your Business around your Passions” and one of your quotes really stuck, “Our purpose is ALWAYS connected to what we love!” This has made me realize I need to start posting MY STORY to get a better connection with the people I’m trying to get. Thank you for such a motivational and uplifting first video, it honestly hooked me to want to finish the rest and I’ve been through a lot of these things that are just boring and get me no where.

I feel like your ad and generous free link has come at exactly the right time for me. I love my network marketing business, I love the product and the community but I have hit a hump where I feel that I should have achieved better results and and I feel like I’m sabotaging myself. I also know this is a long term commitment so my belief is firm and I’m determined to make it work – my aha moment. I’m thinking too much and not doing all the things I love. More wooden spoon carving, more hiking, and just this week I decided I want to let loose and dance more. Voilà! Thank you! Looking forward to video #2.

Hiking, wooden spoon carving (ooo…that sounds cool) and letting loose with more DANCE (one of my favorite things too) – all really awesome action steps. I’m so glad you’re here! I was so excited to find your program on Facebook. My AHA moment was realizing I can promote my business by incorporating it into things I’m passionate about and love….which is home and family. I also realized that sharing my passion in more like minded areas will probably be more successful than sharing with reckless abandon to everyone. I see this as working smarter instead of harder!

And ladt Im not a sales person.

    Reply
    • Carmen Marshall

Hi Hanne! Love this, “if Karen can do it, so can I!” :). YES! And the great thing is, you don’t have to be an “expert”, you want to be a real person who listens and cares and then provides possible solutions. I definitely wasn’t an expert for many years – I was a 27 year old english lit major with no business (or life :) experience when I started. You also don’t want to be a “sales person” (nobody wants to be sold to). So it’s GOOD that you aren’t a sales person and you definitely don’t need to be an expert when you start out — but of course you want to be willing to learn as you go. Reputation of NWM – there are so many people that think NWM is a great thing – Warren Buffet (has several NWM companies in his portfolio), Tony Robbins, Stephen Covey, Robert Kioyosaki…a I would suggest getting “The Perfect Business” by Robert Kiyosaki – as mentioned in the video – that completely changed my viewpoint about NWM. Does that help? Carmen :)

Carmen this was a great video. I have done many of your programs and seen some of this information before but what I saw this time was something I struggled with and couldn’t put into words. I have known for a while that I am the issue. I think that its bc I have tried to be something that I am not and tried to fit into everyone else’s personality profile. It did not feel authentic to me so I would start and stop a lot amongst all of the” life issues” I dealt with. When you said to think about 2 unique characteristics that you bring to the business I wrote perseverance/ diligence and compassion/empathy. The 2 things people have complimented me on are my solid belief in pursing what I believe God has told me (pursing my faith) and passion-the passion to help others. As much as I can see these unique characteristics now, I am still confused on how these things can draw people to me? How I use these qualities to grow my business like Karen did?

    Reply
    • Carmen Marshall

Hi Judi! That is such a huge realization to have — the importance of knowing and then really stepping into our authentic selves — even it goes against the grain of what is expected or what others want/wish for us. And your 2 unique characteristics are beautiful. To make it easy to start, I would focus your “perseverance/diligence” on your business AND health and your “compassion/empathy” for your customers/team and self. Those areas will benefit so much from your gifts/talents – and will be balanced between business + health, others and self. When you’re in action in those areas, that will also naturally draw people to you, without even thinking about it. For example, my “talent” of systems and organization, I put into all my businesses and my talent for making people feel good about themselves and that they can do this too, I put into my customers, clients and team. When I focus my talents on getting into action and helping my business and clients grow, it naturally draws people to me. Does that help? Looking forward to your aha’s and action steps from the next Videos too Judi! Lots of love, Carmen

I love my products, my company and helping people become healthier and happier, and I have certainly grown in so many ways since starting NWM. It os so true that we need to focus on our strengths and use them to our advantage rather than copy others. I am already working hard on being the product of my product and connecting my product with my passions which has happened quite naturally so far. You have given me a huge boost though reminding me that that is the way to continue with renewed energy and focus. I also love how you explained NWM as just one of the ways to sell and importantly it is a way to develop relationships and really serve our customers, which I love.

Hello Carmen, I really enjoy running, walking and cycling and I am a Young Living (nwm-industry) distributor. I am also a life (career) coach and spend a lot of time on self-care. I enjoy life!

Thank you, Carmen for this series! This feels so much better than traditional NWM selling training. My biggest “a-ha” moment was really to align my business with my passions. The products I sell for a health and wellness company are truly quality products and if it wasn’t for those supplements, I wouldn’t be able to do the things that I love. I already have ideas about where I can start sharing about my business in groups I am a member of to maximize my results. I cannot wait for video #2!

I loved reading your comment Kristin — such a great AHA and that you feel clear about how you can start sharing in your business groups — that’s wonderful! I can feel your passion for your products and how they’ve changed your life. Looking forward to seeing you in Vid #2 — I’ll watch for you there! Carmen :)

Hi Pat! I’m so glad you’re so eager to get them! Each video will be released 24 hours after the previous one has been clicked on so it gives you time to take action — as each video will build on the last. They’ll be released into your inbox – so be sure to whitelist my name carmen@carmenmarshall.com so they don’t go into spam. If for any reason you don’t receive the into your inbox 24 hours after you clicked on the previous one, check spam (email is sooo finicky these days) and if not there– email us at info@carmenmarshall.com and we will trouble shoot for you. Does that help? Warmly, Carmen
