Episode 9 Part 2 is all about Living a Life Less Ordinary with Phil & Penny Kirk.
We got cut off during our interview, so we resumed the next day for Part 2. I didn’t want you to miss any of the gems that Phil & Penny dropped, especially around how to live life in the flow AND intentionally create your life. (hint: they’re not mutually exclusive.)
*If you missed Part 1, head back to last week’s interview first – this episode will then make so much more sense.
Phil and Penny are two of the most fascinating, heart-centered, and genuine human beings I’ve had the privilege of meeting and having in my life for the past 20 years.
They epitomize creating and living a life less ordinary – their years have been filled with the accumulation of experiences. They’ve been professional athletes, coaches, parents of 3 musician sons, and business owners just to name a few titles – and by choice, they’ve moved 37 times in their 50 years of marriage in an ongoing quest for new adventure and letting go of attachment to “stuff”.
From NY to New Mexico, from farms to monasteries, from construction companies to manufacturing supplements, from owning The Abominable Snowman Lodge to building an international network marketing team, they have lived a rich and varied life with a combined 80+ years of experience in the pursuit of wellness, purpose and what truly matters in life.
What we cover in Part 2:
- How to go with the flow AND create an intentional life
- Contraction as a sign that it’s time for a change
- What’s beyond gratitude?
- The addiction to fear and how to break the cycle
- What prevents most people from creating a life they love
- How to use technology to our advantage
- Working in the slums of India
- What most people miss when setting goals
- What grief, death, and failure can teach you
- How to stay relevant
I met Phil & Penny when researching what network marketing company I wanted to partner with, after selling my first NWM business. Over the past 20 years, they have been the best mentors I could have asked for, and also 2 of my favorite people in the world, because of their outlook on life, their wisdom, their hearts – and every time I talk to them they’re up to something new, fun and mind-expanding.
Let’s dive in and explore what it means to create a life less ordinary in livelihood, experiences, and a beautiful, connected relationship of over 50 years.
